Girl Scouts-Spirit of Nebraska

Girl Scouts teaches girls to be self-confident, make good decisions, and use their skills and talents to make the world a better place. Programs offer career exploration and vocational options. Interviewing and presentation are emphasized, as well as preparation for public speaking. Nominal membership fee and program fees may apply. Program scholarship funds available.

Job Corps

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Job Corps program is authorized by Title I-C of theWorkforce Investment Act of 1998. At Pine Ridge Job Corps Center, we support the Job Corps program's mission of teaching eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and placing them in meaningful jobs or further education.

Ruth K Solomon Girls Center

Career development programming offering career exploration. Two annual scholarships are awarded to past and current members after high school graduation. The Ruth K. Solomon Girls Center is a summer and after-school recreational program that offers tutoring, career education, social skills development and leadership guidance to girls age 5-18 years. Girls may attend every weekday. Activities promote skill development and provide assistance in dealing with the issues that challenge today’s girls and young women. The ultimate aim of the Center is to provide its members with those qualities that enable them to have positive social interactions and relationships. Field trips and activities are offered for recreation, leadership and social skills. Minimal membership fee.
